How CoSeat Works

Coordinate mutual seat swaps in 3 easy steps

01

Verify PNR

Enter your 10-digit Train PNR or 6-char Flight PNR. We securely query the real-time seat manifest without storing your data.

02

Set Seating Goal

Tell us your target — family seating, a lower berth for parents, exit row legroom, or a window seat.

03

Match & Swap

Connect with co-passengers in your coach or flight who want your seat in exchange for theirs. Agree mutually and swap seats.

Trust & Safety

Built on verified trust

Train swaps go through PNR verification against the live seat manifest. Flight swaps are currently self-declared. Every swap, train or flight, still requires mutual consent before it proceeds.

PNR Verified (Train)

Verifies your active train booking status directly with your PNR. Flight details are currently self-declared and not checked against airline records, so always confirm your match's details before swapping.

Encrypted PNR

PNR details are processed securely and never stored longer than needed to make a match.

Mutual Consent

No seat swap proceeds until both passengers explicitly agree.

Coseat helps passengers find and coordinate with willing co-passengers. We do not guarantee a successful swap, process payments between users, or override railway or airline seating policy. Always follow TTE or cabin crew instructions — their decision is final.

Getting Started

Verify your PNR, tell us your swap goal (like "sit with my family" or "get a lower berth"), and we match you with a co-passenger on the same train or flight who's willing to swap. Once you both agree, you get the seat details to coordinate directly — no app download needed.

Yes. RAC and waitlisted passengers can still set a swap goal — we'll match you with confirmed or RAC passengers open to swapping once seats are finalized closer to departure.

You just need to verify your PNR and phone number to get started — no lengthy signup, no app install required.

Both. Use the Train/Flight toggle on the homepage. Train swaps are verified against your live PNR. Flight swaps are currently self-declared, meaning we don't check flight or seat details against the airline directly, so please confirm your match's details with them before finalizing a swap.

Swaps & Matching

We keep looking as more passengers on your train or flight join Coseat closer to your travel date. You'll get notified the moment a match is available — there's no penalty for not finding one.

Yes, anytime before a swap is mutually confirmed. Once both passengers agree, please only cancel if genuinely necessary, since it affects the other traveler's plans too.

For trains, minor seat swaps between passengers are commonly accommodated informally, but the TTE has final authority over your coach. For flights, cabin crew and airline policy always have final say, especially for exit rows or restricted seat categories. Coseat helps you coordinate the match — the actual swap follows standard railway/airline rules.

You'll get a notification with the other passenger's seat details as soon as a mutual match is confirmed, so you can coordinate before or during boarding.

Trust & Data

Your PNR is used only to verify your journey and match you with genuine co-passengers on the same train or flight. We don't sell or share your personal data with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

No. Coseat is an independent platform that helps passengers coordinate seat swaps. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated in partnership with Indian Railways, IRCTC, or any airline.

Yes, matching and swapping through Coseat is free for passengers.

Yes — consensual seat swaps between passengers, coordinated directly and carried out with TTE/crew awareness, are a normal part of travel. Coseat simply helps you find a willing co-passenger; the swap itself always remains subject to the operator's rules and staff approval.
