This Privacy Policy explains how CoSeat collects, uses, and protects your information.
We collect the following: for train swaps, your PNR number, which is used solely to query the live seat manifest and confirm your active booking status; for flight swaps, a self-declared first name/nickname, flight number, date of journey, and seat, none of which are currently verified against an airline's official booking system; your chosen seating goal (e.g., lower berth, seats together); and basic usage data needed to operate matching (such as coach/cabin number). We do not require account creation, passwords, or full legal names.
Your PNR is used only to verify an active train booking and is not stored for longer than necessary to complete matching for that journey; we do not retain PNR data after your travel date has passed or your swap request is withdrawn, whichever comes first. When you're matched with a co-passenger, we share only the minimum details needed to coordinate a swap (such as seat number, coach, or goal) and never your full PNR, phone number, or other personal identifiers, unless you choose to share them directly with your match yourself.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties and do not use it for advertising targeting outside of CoSeat's own promotional channels. Reasonable technical safeguards (such as encryption in transit) are used to protect PNR and personal data while it's being processed. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by emailing coseat.in@gmail.com; we will respond within a reasonable time.
CoSeat is intended for users who are at least 18 years old or the age of majority in their jurisdiction. We may update this Privacy Policy periodically, and material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
